PS Plus Extra is the next step up, essentially combining the existing PlayStation Now service with PS Plus and adding some newer, higher profile games into the mix. PS Plus Essential is vanilla PS Plus, giving players access to monthly free games, various discounts on the PlayStation Store, and online multiplayer. The new PS Plus tiers give PlayStation 4 and 5 gamers three options to choose from: PS Plus Essential, PS Plus Extra, and PS Plus Premium.
